Immanuel Kant is a famous German philosopher, born in 1724 in Konigsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia). Known for his strict daily routine, people called him the "clock of Konigsberg". Kant's books changed how we think about knowledge and morals. His key idea was that our mind shapes how we see the world, like wearing special glasses. This is called the "Copernican revolution" in philosophy.
Kant’s work focuses on three main things:
What we can know (Critique of Pure Reason)
How we should act (Critique of Practical Reason)
What feels beautiful or meaningful (Critique of Judgment)
He taught for over 40 years and wrote rules for moral behavior, like "act only in ways you’d want everyone to follow." His ideas still shape modern philosophy, law, science, and ethics today. From AI ethics to human rights, Kant’s influence is everywhere.
Fun fact: He never left Konigsberg.
