Bailu Music Festival (Sino-French Classical Music Art Season) in Chengdu September 2023
The Bailu Music Festival, formally known as the Bailu Sino-French Classical Music Art Season, is an annual cultural event held in Bailu Town, Pengzhou (a district in the greater Chengdu metropolitan area, Sichuan Province, China). Renowned for blending classical music with Sino-French heritage—Bailu Town's 19th-century French missionary architecture earns it the nickname "Little Paris of the East"—the festival promotes international exchange and cultural tourism. The 13th edition emphasizes the theme "Engaging the World through Music, Promoting International Cultural Exchange, and Boosting Cultural Tourism Consumption." My friend Professor Pierre Réach is a distinguished French classical pianist, renowned educator, and cultural organizer. With a career spanning over five decades, he excels in interpreting French Romantic composers alongside staples such as Bach's Goldberg Variations and Beethoven's sonatas. A Steinway Artist since 1982, Réach bridges performance, teaching, and international collaboration, particularly in promoting French music in Asia.
